Vintage St John Ambulance Association Illustrated First Aid Bandage

Early 20th Century

This bandage was originally created by a German Surgeon, Johannes Friedrich August Von Esmarch (1823-1908) who introduced his graphic work on linen to give medical knowledge on battlefield.

Later St John Ambulance Association issued this bandages as part of their first aid training, in post war period. 

Has age related staining

It is fraying on the right side, and on the two bottom corners. 

It also has hole on the fabric ( 2nd photo)

It is approximately 147 cm (58") long
